WHo are we?

The Friends of Lliswerry (FOL) is a group of parents and carers who offer their support to school events throughout the year.

What do we do?

The FOL offer invaluable support during our annual fundraising events, such as the Christmas and Summer Fete. The FOL help secure prizes for the raffle, help set up and organise the stalls and help set up the fete on the day.

Over the last few years, the FOL have organised and run very successful Easter Fundraisers such as the Matchbox and Smarties challenges. These events raise money that we can use to purchase much needed resources for the school.

The FOL also provides invaluable support to other, non profit, events throughout the year including the Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, the Father’s Day BBQ and the Year 6 Leavers’ event.

What are we currently aiming for?

Currently, the money raised at these events is being saved towards the purchase of an Outdoor Classroom. Previously, FOL have raised money towards much needed iPad’s and C-Touch interactive whiteboards. We have also been thankful to contributions towards the cost of visiting authors during our Book Week Celebrations.

At times, we also benefit from support in organising school resources and areas. The FOL have also been involved in stickering our new home reading scheme and sorting the library. This year, FOL have been busy helping school staff reorganise Guided Reading books.

If you think you would like to be involved in supporting the school and can offer your time to some of the school activities mentioned above, then please let us know.

We value the support that our parents and community can offer and thank you in advance.
